Inis Meain Knitting Co. have been producing high quality knitted clothing and accessories for over 40 years. right on the island of Inis Meain. The company’s devotion to keeping the craft of knitting alive in the Aran Islands has let them grow since the company’s founding in 1976.

A typical Aran workwear sweater for fishermen. this button-up knitted sweater resembles the original as worn by Máirtín Beag. a famous Aran fisherman. which was knitted by his wife. and is over 100 years old.

Crafted from a blend of merino wool and cashmere. the sweaters’ intricate knitting pattern as well as the subtle details such as the horn buttons and button loops create great depth and dimension for the sweater.
